C H Elton

C. H. Elton is a writer who refuses to be confined to a single genre. From sharp, intimate short-story monologues inspired by Talking Heads, to crime thrillers that move between the sun-drenched Greek island of Kos and the shadowed corridors of the Vatican, to supernatural suspense and lyrical poetry, his work shares one unifying aim: to make readers feel. Love it or hate it, Elton believes the best writing should always spark a reaction.

After a 35-year career in the U.K. insurance industry—including a memorable stint giving fourteen radio interviews in one day, and even a live news broadcast from a Derbyshire campsite—he retired and finally gave himself permission to write full-time. Yet, in truth, he has always been a writer. School notebooks, scraps of paper, half-finished poems, and late-night ideas all reveal a lifelong passion now finding its way into published work.

Married, with five children and three grandchildren, Elton enjoys spending time away from the desk in warmer places, sampling local food and drink, and sketching out ideas for his next story.

For C. H. Elton, writing is not about perfection—it is about connection.

The Devil’s Kiss
